Spotlight on Logan Circle

Logan Circle

Logan Circle is perhaps best known for its Civil War relevance, attracting tourists and history buffs over the decades to an older part of Washington. Yet, over the past century, Logan Circle has emerged from its historical roots to take on a new face in the modern age. Having been headquartered in Logan Circle for over 40 years, NRGCO has seen the transition of this neighborhood first hand. Wondering what is new in this area of the district? Over the past ten years, the neighborhood has expanded to include trendy new eateries, high-end retail shops, and a cavernous Whole Foods market to support the growing influx of residents and businesses to the area.

One of the most beloved wine bars in Washington is located two streets from our office. Cork Wine Bar, on 14th and S Street, has the feeling of a cozy wine cellar with floor to ceiling shelves of over 50 wine choices from regions around the world. The knowledgeable and helpful wait staff is always ready to pair your selections with delectable small plates ranging from baked brie to steak tartar, all served with spectacular presentation. Since its 2008 opening, Cork has been one of the Washington’s most raved about wine bars and has drawn many a crowd to Logan Circle.

Are you in the mood for Italian? Coming this winter, it is rumored that the owners of Aqua al 2, a popular Italian eatery in Eastern Market, will be opening a new Mediterranean restaurant on 1610 14th Street, a short five-minute walk from our office. Named Ghibellina after a street in Florence, the establishment will not only consist of a spectacular seafood restaurant, but also a lively pub and music venue. We cannot wait to welcome Ghibellina to our community and look forward to this addition of Italian charm to our area.

If you plan on visiting our area or scheduling your next meeting in our conference room, make sure to take a walk around the block and check out some of the newer establishments in our area of the district.
